From the Sthenos team
We built the app we couldn't find.
Every tracker we tried treated a "plan" as a few templates you repeat forever.
None of them could hold the shape of real training — mesocycles and microcycles that actually change week to week, phases that build and deload. So we did what serious lifters everywhere quietly do: we gave up and moved into a spreadsheet.
The good programming lived somewhere else entirely — buried in articles, or locked behind a top creator's paywall. We'd find a great plan and then have nowhere to actually run it, adapt it, or make it our own.
The "smart" apps were worse. They'd hand you next week's sets and weights from inside a black box — no reasoning, no way in, just do what the model says. Too much faith in the AI, and not enough respect for the person training.
Training you don't understand isn't training you can own.
So we wanted something simpler and more honest: start from a plan built by people who know what they're doing, then change anything — swap an exercise, explore a new modality, adjust the volume — and always understand why. Help when you ask for it. A black box, never.
That's Sthenos. You keep the decisions.
